John Mc.Laughlin & Mahavishnu orchestra Ik heb reeds beluisterd,voor zover dat kan bij Amazon,naar: Between nothing & Eternity...live..wat toch mijn voorkeur heeft en Apocalypse Help me eens verder op dit pad.... Het " zonder stekkertje " album van deze singer-songwriter.... Neal Casal....Basement Dreams... Het Mojo Americana album van 1999.... If you're a fan of modern acoustic folk music such as John Gorka, David Wilcox, or Dave Alvin or even the sounds of Jack Johnson, you'd probably appreciate the pickin' and singin' of neal casal. This album is almost entirely unplugged, with great sounding songs that play themselves out wonderfully. One of his best sounding songs, 'Me and Queen Sylvia' is on the album, which is an awesome acoustic ballad. I'm surprised Casal hasn't made a bigger mark in the alt-country or modern folk scene, but I'm looking forward to hearing more of his work. If you're looking for some great sounding acoustic songs, do yourself a favor and check this album out..... --Hans.

Ik mag dat wel deze muziek..... Wat ik ook mag is dit album om in de juiste sfeer te komen voor het ophanden zijnde Goude uur.... Goude uur?......tja,dan zakt de zon naar meer acceptabele waarden,en het waanzinige land begint langzaam tot rust te komen voor de sjabat. Hier heb je dan ook nog eens radio Freedom die dat uur precies weet in te pakken met de juiste muziek om de zons-ondergang te begeleiden. --Hans.

Geachte leden, Tja.....de leek is op weg naar de aanschaf van zo'n flash-stick maar weet natuurlijk weer noppes van het hele gebeuren m.b.t kwaliteit/prijs verhouding. Als ik opzoek ga krijg ik zoveel info dat ik gewoon afhaak..... Wie gebruikt zo'n ding,en wat mag zoiets dan kosten? Alvast hartelijk dank voor de info....Hans.

Ik zeg niks meer...ga maar luisteren Dave Alvin has become one of America's great unsung songwriting heroes. His unflinching portraits of modern romance-on-the rocks set the Blasters apart from their roots rocking peers in the early 1980s. In the 1990s, his solo work moved closer to contemporary folk, meaning that the same guys who once tried to steal his guitar licks are now trying to copy his lyric lines. They'll find plenty to plunder here, from the outstanding "Abilene" to "The Way You Say Good-Bye." Occasionally, as on "New Highway," Alvin starts to repeat himself, but he does it with such authority, with such a world-weary sigh, that it hardly matters. En dan nu nog zo'n klassieker..... The Chieftains......Long Black Vail.... Lees maar even mee wie er langst kwamen om 'n toontje mee te leuteren.... More than three decades and many albums spent charting the gorgeous musical landscape of Ireland have made the Chieftains by far the world's most recognized and qualified ambassadors of Celtic sound and rhythm. Having toured the globe and garnered numerous awards, the traditional sextet has set its sights on something bigger: the pop charts. Though they've worked in the past with names like Roger Daltrey, Nanci Griffith, and Willie Nelson, on The Long Black Veil the Chieftains graduate to A-list guest stars with appearances by Sting, the Rolling Stones, and, yes, even Tom Jones. It's a testimony to the considerable talents and character of the Chieftains that none of the celebrity personalities or egos upstage the band on this record. Rather, the musicians always stay in control and the instruments remain at the center of the songs. So while Mick Jagger delivers a stirring reading of the title song, it's the pipes and fiddles that transform the country standard into deep Gaelic soul music. Op dit moment luister ik via Amazon naar dit album.... Eliza Gilkyson.....Land of milk and honey... Lees even mee... Tijdens het schrijven van een erg lange e-mail luisterde ik naar dit album. Lees maar even mee: When it comes to pure and simple songwriting, few can rival Beth Nielsen Chapman, and Look is another powerful addition to her cannon. So far, her work has been covered successfully by Faith Hill, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt and myriad others and her artist peers will surely find much to feed upon here. In a sense, it's a concept album, the concept being "love" in all its forms. Having recently recovered from breast cancer, Chapman is clearly ready to embrace humanity in all its flawed beauty. Thus we have tales of enduring love, love passed by, romantic love, destructive love, redemptive love and love for the dearly departed, all of them delivered with impressive warmth and charm. Importantly, they're all also performed deadly straight--thankfully, there are no vocal pyrotechnics to divert one's attention from the songs. And what songs they are, Chapman creating a smooth blend of country, pop, jazz and soft soul that's varied in style, tone and mood yet consistent in its excellence. Arguably, she's at her best when indulging her love for show tunes, as she does with the title track and the quiet, exotic "The Reason". --Hans.

Via de discman dit album van deze singer-songwriter..... Al zal de stem niet voor iedereen weggelegd zijn is het een prachtig album geworden zowel met het matriaal dat hij brengt als de recording. Michael Fracasso.....Back to Oklahoma....Live at the Blue Door --Hans.

Zojuist en indrukwekend debuut-album beluisterd via Amazon toen ik opzoek was naar wat anders... Chantal Kreviazuk...Under these rocks and stones... When an artist signs a million dollar deal to a label nearly immediately after sending them a demo tape, the music industry stands up and listens. When the Winnipeg-based Kreviazuk takes her show on the road, her audience stands listening in awe. An incredibly powerful debut, the pianist/vocalist provides lyrics both eloquent and cathartic in tracks like "Grace" ("Please don't go/without you I am weak/find myself drinking and sinking and seeking") and "Wayne" ("It's crowded and I'm lost in here/I'm trying to find a familiar fear"). Kreviazuk's music--as well as her piano playing--is rich, warm and beautiful, well worth the purchase price. -- Als je van singer/songwriters houd is dit de moeite waard.......en laat je niet van de wijs brengen door de toevoeging " piano-spel "......want het heeft niks te maken met Nora e.d. --Hans.

Er was een tijd dat ik van te voren een soort playlist maakte voor de mensen die op bezoek kwamen.....en ik was dan ook altijd druk bezig met de muziek op zo'n avond.......vaak kwam er nooit feedback,soms ook wel. Maar dan was het vaak als het nummers waremn die de radio ook draaide of wat er in de buurt kwam. Nu staat er niks op als er iemand langst komt....of het moet de tv zijn......ik las hier al Paarlen voor de zwijnen Nu draai ik enkel nog muziek als iemand voor m'n kasten gaat staan en zegt: H

Heb 't niet, maar zag 't vanmiddag wel liggen bij de Plato in Groningen. Ik geloof dat ie maar 17,- euro was, voor een dubbel-CD. Bij mij staat nu op: American Connection, via radio-2 Ik begrijp dus dat je 'm nog niet beluisterd hebt.... Laat je het even weten als dat een feit is? --Hans.
