Now i've read other reviews saying this was the weakest of their set but i have to disagree. Normally the albums are full with Jimmy doing riffs, solos and the blues, which everyone loves, but this album is led by John Paul Jones, and there is alot of keyboards and synthesizer stuff, like in Carouselambra, but still i like it. There are some parts which are a bit soft, All My Love, which is more 80s than 70s. But any zep fan should own this album because it has some great bits on. If your new to zeppelin dont buy it, buy the atlantic ones first because this is really diffrent to thier normal style and might put you off. If you have a few zeppelins already buy it to finish your collection but it is really a Jones/Plant album with John and Jimmy just in the back, a pity because it was there last album and didnt do much on it, lets just hope they do another

Foto EPA 07-02-11 10:33 uur Gary Moore speelde met The Traveling Wilburys, de Beach Boys, Jack Bruce en Ginger Baker, met Greg Lake en met Ozzy Osbourne en was in de jaren zeventig en tachtig regelmatig invalkracht in Thin Lizzy. Hij had een wereldhit met Still got the blues for you. En hij was, met Rory Gallagher, zonder enige twijfel de beste, bezieldste bluesgitarist in de geschiedenis van de Ierse popmuziek. Gisteren is hij overleden in een hotel aan de Spaanse Costa del Sol, waar hij op vakantie was. Hij was pas 58. Gary Moore was linkshandig, maar hij bespeelde de gitaar rechtshandig, omdat 'alle gitaristen die ik kende toen ik begon nu eenmaal rechtshandig waren'. Hij begon op zijn tiende, in 1962. Van de linkshandige Jimi Hendrix had toen nog nooit iemand gehoord. Maar voor Moore was rechts spelen geen handicap. Hij was een virtuoos. Zijn spel was gloedvol en vloeiend, al was het verbijsterend te zien dat hij zijn pink in het geheel niet gebruikte en zijn ringvinger nauwelijks. Verbluffend In Nederland werd Moore bekend met de sferische gitaarballad Parisienne walkways (1979), waarin Phil Lynott (zanger en bassist van Thin Lizzy) de tekst reciteerde en Moore hartverscheurend op zijn Gibson Les Paul zong. De razendsnelle gitaarbreak op twee derde van het nummer is nog steeds verbluffend. Moore begon in 1969 in de band Skid Row, met Phil Lynott als zanger. In jaren zeventig stortte hij zich met Colosseum II op een soort jazzrock. Commercieel gezien was dat een dood spoor. Gelukkig kon hij altijd rekenen op Phil Lynott, die hem inhuurde als er in Thin Lizzy weer eens een gitarist met ruzie was opgestapt. In Amerika richtte Moore G-Force op, maar ook deze stevige hardrock bracht hem geen succes. Dat veranderde toen hij uit innerlijke noodzaak terugkeerde naar de blues. Het album Still got the blues (1994) werd een megaseller. Op het album speelt hij onder meer Stop messin' around van zijn held Peter Green, aan wie hij later Blues for Greeny zou opdragen, een album vol nummers van Green, waaronder Need your love so bad. Gary Moore is absolutely awesome and just lets rip with a wizardry rendition of Hendrix's Red House. Why this guy only got a 1 song slot is vulgarity at it's best. What the hell is Jamie Callum, Amy Whitehouse and Paul Rodger's kids doing on show robbing the fans of a slot which Moore would have more than filled with blistering guitar work. David Gilmour gets a good slot and again is absolute 1st class guitar work. More controlled and melodic than Moore's earlier style which complements the range of the strat. There are other guitarists on the show and generally, this is a good dvd with a lot of good performances but Moore and Gilmour saved the day and Whinehouse,Callum,and Rodger's kids should have been showered with rotting veg.
